All of our candles are 100% soy wax, free of dye, and made in small batches then hand poured. This process produces better control of fragrance and a fresher candle delivered to you. We use only phthalate free fragrances and all cotton wicks. With high quality ingredients, our candles burn clean and are safe for all in your home, including the pets!
Here’s more about our quality ingredients…
100% SOY WAX
· Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from soy beans. The oil is extracted from the beans and the remaining portion is used in animal feed.
· Soy is a sustainable and renewable crop grown right here in America. The use of soy wax supports local farmers and manufacturers across our great nation.
· Soy wax melts at a cooler temperature so your candle will last longer than traditional paraffin wax candles. This cooler burn allows a gradual balanced release of fragrance.
· Clean up is easy with hot soapy water – remember it is a vegetable oil! Easy clean up gives you options to reuse the containers. If you do not plan to reuse your containers, we ask that you recycle them!
DID YOU KNOW ---- Paraffin wax (used in traditional Name Brand candles) is obtained from petroleum? It is made by dewaxing oil stock then “purifying” the wax with a chemical treatment. This is why you see black smoke from the burning wick and upon extinguishing a paraffin wax candle.
WICKS
· Ours are all cotton from an American manufacturer.
· Cotton, like soy beans, is a sustainable and renewable crop that supports local farmers and manufacturers.
· All cotton wicks are clean burning, leaving no black smoke or soot.
DID YOU KNOW ---- In 2003 the United States government banned the manufacturing of wicks with lead components. However, zinc and tin are still allowed in wicks … hmmmmm.
FRAGRANCE
· Ours are Phthalate free
Many phthalates have been banned in the United States because of their toxicity levels. However, DEP (Diethyl Phthalate) is not banned as it has a “low toxicity level” … isn’t that still toxic??
So, why should we care about DEP? Unfortunately, DEP is used in some candle fragrance oils to lessen the cost. Therefore, the manufacturer does not need as much pure fragrance to achieve a high aroma level.
· NO DEP IN OUR CANDLES – We are happy to purchase high cost phthalate free fragrance oils for your health and the environment! You get a great scented candle from pure fragrance oils, NOT “low toxic” chemicals.
DYES
· Dye Free candles – we do NOT see a reason to add chemical dyes to a natural product … You’re Welcome!
